[D-Ala2]leucine-enkephalin is widely distributed in the human body and possesses extremely vital physiological functions. It exerts unique effects on brain cells, being capable of activating dormant brain cells and facilitating the recovery of sequelae caused by brain damage. It also plays an essential role in immune function, including enhancing the activity of the immune system, T lymphocytes, NK cells and macrophages, exerting antiviral effects, and promoting the secretion of gamma-interferon. Additionally, it participates in immune regulation by stimulating endocrine cell secretion through activated immune cells, thereby influencing the gene regulation and expression functions of DNA.
